(2) PS Many skin tones, body types, and dance styles boogie through this warm, funny book. Amidst the joyful movin' and groovin', one child answers the titular query with "I don't." Friendly direct-address text suggests how to, reasons to, and locations where to dance, but the protagonist still declines. Loose, dynamic illustrations make excellent use of white space as well as action-packed full-bleed spreads. When the circumstances are right...the protagonist does finally bust a move.

(3) K-3 Assigned a presentation on polar bears, Sophie distractedly scrawls that they are big and mean and eat things. Olafur the polar bear magically appears in her home and brings her on a guided trip of the Arctic to teach her more. Fully saturated double-page spreads bring the chilly landscape to wondrous life, while the text is a cohesive mix of story and fact.

(3) K-3 Little T was frightened during her last visit to the zoo--of what, she can't remember--so her family constructs a slew of creative zoo-animal costumes to puzzle it out. The dress-up guessing game is played out visually, with subtle textual hints to help readers guess. The watercolor and ink illustrations are as zesty as the text, and the surprising resolution is hilarious.
